Update – 3/11/2014:

A bit of a disappointment.  Actually, “a bit” is an understatement.  The trailer was better than the actual episode itself.  A total letdown.  What set the disappointment in full swing was Barack Obama starting the show off.  Seriously?  I have to see that man’s face?  Thanks, but no thanks.  Plus, the musical soundtrack is nothing like the original.  Alan Silvestri’s work isn’t my favorite.  In fact, I don’t really care for any of his work.  My son liked the show, though.  He can watch it if he wants.  Instead, I’ll pass and stick to my Carl Sagan Cosmos DVD collection.  When it’s all said and done, I’ll show him what the real Cosmos series is and how it’s so much more interesting.

I have vivid memories of watching Cosmos: A Personal Voyage by Dr. Carl Sagan.  Dr. Sagan had a way of making science fun, and interesting to learn.

Sadly, Carl  Sagan died of pneumonia at the age of 62 in 1996.

Sagan’s wife, Ann Druyan, along with Steven Soter, and director Brannon Braga (Star Trek) have teamed up to continue the voyage Carl Sagan started, with Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey and American astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson as the narrator/presenter.

Something tells me it’s going to be a wild ride.
Don’t forget to tune in … tonight at 9PM on Fox

I am so looking forward to this.

  1. I just couldn’t. Tyson gets on my nerves. What did you think of it?

    • It was OK. I think the trailer was better than the actual show. A bit disappointed. Especially since Obama was the first to appear as he gave a “short synopsis and welcome to the show” kind of thing. That alone did it for me. I’ll sick to my DVD version with Carl Sagan.
