Saw this radio at the local Radio Shack today, on sale, for $43.00.  I couldn’t pass it up being it’s the same radio at the Sangean ATS-505 which sells for $129.00.  I managed to get one of the two remaining in stock.  Nice.

Some reviews around the net:

So far, I find the performance is better than I expected.  I am damn pleased.  It picks up signals quite well with the built-in whip antenna.  Performance is pretty much on par with my Sony ICF-SW7600GR, although the Radio Shack unit lacks the synchronous detection circuit; but at $43.00, I don’t care.

I reckon it will perform even better with a wire antenna.  I’ll have to try that another night being I don’t feel like reeling it out right now.

All that being said, I am quite pleased with this radio.  Especially the price.  It can’t be beat.
What a damn steal.

I love it when stuff like this comes my way, it’s not often, but when it does, it makes me feel good.
